The following Blog implements a Flipped Classroom model.  Within the pages along the top, there are videos, readings, and supplementary materials for students to view for the following class day.  The goal of a flipped classroom is to allow students to receive lecture, readings, and lessons at home.  This allows students to move at their own pace, and have the opportunity to formulate questions for the next class day to increase understandings and eliminate misconceptions.  While the students receive the lesson at home the night before class, the classroom is open to experiments, activities, and questioning that otherwise would have been disreguarded in a regular class setting.  Before students worked on homework at home without the teachers assistance; whereas, now the teacher is available in the classroom to help students in their understanding.  It also creates a positive learning environment because the teacher is not solely a lecture, but an approachable guide.
The flipped classroom model opens up the classroom to so many different options.  The students are more free to go on field trips to actively participate in the lesson they learned the night before.  The students are eager to engage in the material because they are given the opportunities to explore and question concepts, theories, or ideas with teacher availability.  The teacher is able to guide students and make sure student understanding is on key by evaluating and assessing students.
